No, but if you do set up an appointment to pick up your application, you may not have to wait as long to pick up your application.

Yes, it is great news that you are already ready to close on your home! However, if your closing date is coming up soon, you might have to postpone it. The review, approval, and closing process can take up to 3 weeks from the time you have met with a counselor and submitted your documents.

Please apply once you have received a pre-approval letter and have an approximate closing date. Complete your application process no more than 30 days before your scheduled closing date. Your approval must be within 90 days of your closing date.

If my lender has other down payment and closing cost assistance programs, can I still apply for AHP Down Payment Assistance?

Yes! AHP Down Payment Assistance stacks with other types of down payment and closing cost assistance, as long as there isn’t cash back to the homebuyer.

We suggest checking with your lender about if their programs will allow other financial assistance programs.

If I decided to sell my house after 1 year of living there, what would happen?

If you decide to sell your home 5 years or less after you buy it, you will have to pay back your Down Payment Assistance grant. This grant requires homebuyers to sign a 5-year real estate retention agreement at closing.

Does my lender have to be part of FHLB?

No, any lender can participate in this program. We recommend sharing our Tips for Lenders info sheet with your loan officer to facilitate the process!
