About Brandon
Brandon Mason serves as General Counsel for Build WyCo, where he leads legal strategy in support of equitable development, affordable housing, and neighborhood stabilization across Wyandotte County and the greater Kansas City region. Nearly his entire legal career has focused on working alongside disinvested.
Brandon earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 2016 and is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri.
Prior to Build WyCo, Brandon led economic development efforts at Legal Aid of Western Missouri and continues in a leadership role with Neighborhood Legal Support of Kansas City, supporting neighborhood advocacy and housing reform. He also teaches at UMKC School of Law, where he directs the Abandoned Properties Clinic and mentors students in hands-on housing work. A resident of Kansas City, Missouri (please don’t hold it against him), Brandon lives with his girlfriend, his cat Max, and his dog Miso. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, playing chess, woodworking, and rock climbing.
